About Us

Originally the Turner family business based in Lyme Regis, England, Specialized Marine rapidly expanded to become a globally recognized specialist in the manufacture and distribution of high performance racing dinghies and accessories.

In 2005, Specialized Marine in England closed its doors as the family relocated around the World. Chris moved to become Managing Director at Ovington Boats (builders of many classes including the Musto Performance Skiff, 49er, 29er and Flying Fifteen), whilst Peter moved to Auckland, New Zealand and set up Specialized Marine NZ.

A passion for sailing runs in the family as Jim is a multiple World dinghy champion and America's Cup sailor.
